Pool Entrance
The pool complex, ½ acre in size, is in a landscaped setting within walking distance of the Clubhouse. A major renovation was completed in 2005 which included – not only the water supply, treatment facilities and pool lights – but new aluminum fencing (shown below), and reworking of surfaces and coverings as well.

The area includes 3,150 sq ft devoted to the actual pool, and there is 5,946 sq feet about the edges of the swimming area covered for sun protection. Men's and Women's Locker Rooms are at the edges, and there is a hot tub/spa with jets.

A hot pool is at the south end of the complex.

[Again statistics: It measures 18' L x 18' W and is 4' in depth. It contains 8000 gallons of water warmed to 104 degrees F.]

In 2005, 11 jets were added making time in the spa especially comfortable and relaxing.

Though its major use is – of course – swimming, one of the advantages of a large out-of-doors location is that the pool complex has the space to host large social events and include grills outside the fence.

For instance “Night Swims” draw crowds of up to 160 residents for music, dancing and socializing. Attendees were swimming, eating and listening to live music. The covered area is very versatile, and the Rossmoor maintenance division easily substitutes "tables and chairs" to support this usage.

We also enjoy “Family Swims” on Sunday every month while the pool is open. Guests swim at no charge and a real sense of family comes to light.

The facility is well used for basic swimming recreation, attracting 60 attendees even on cool days, and up to 250 each day of a Holiday Weekend.

Exercise Events

A water aerobics class with a certified instructor hired through the South Brunswick YMCA is held on a regular basis. The participation rate is 35 strong and residents listen to music and dance in the water decreasing their chances of injury.

Life Guards and Pool Maintenance

Lifeguards (2), hired through Sparkling Pools (based nearby in Hightstown, NJ), are stationed at the pool from opening until closing. In addition, this professional organization oversees the maintenance and quality controls of the pool and its water.

A Place for the Evening

The picture to the right is the pool in late afternoon, a restful and peaceful time. The hours of pool operation are: Monday through Sunday, 9AM to 8PM.

Pool passes for guests of residents are available, and children (over the age of four) may use the pool Tuesday-Friday from 11am to 1pm and Monday from 12pm to 2pm.

Traditionally, the facility opens on Memorial Day and closes on Labor Day Monday.
